I currently have in the range of 60 poems submitted to a wide variety different publishers. I have already received
numerous rejections. Only 2 of those have been personalized, and somewhat encouraging, responses. Some of the rejected
poems have been resubmitted elsewhere. Some of those were reworked first. I am not discouraged by the lack of success
so far, partly because some of the early attempts were premature and ill advised, but also because my poetry has gotten
better and my understanding of the publishing process is improving. I've learned how to keep close track of publishing
efforts and to more carefully select prospective ones through Duotrope and some other venues, and I've become active in
some helpful Facebook private groups focused on publishing poetry.
