Daily Wriitng Topic: Grade Final Test
Grade Final Test. For 10 - 15 minutes, use a combination of browsing and closer readings to get a good sampling of the responses from this class on yesterday's Final Topic. Then, tell how you would be willing to contribute to grading all those papers by the end of next Thursday. The goal is for all the papers to be graded in a fair manner, possibly with feed back, and for everyone in the class, including the teacher, to make an equivalent contribution in accomplishing this. This does not necessarily mean that everyone in the class has to be involved with closely reading or grading all the papers, or that everyone has to complete the same tasks with regard to them. Divisions of labor are possible, like dividing the class in two groups that would each grade half the papers (but this might not be fair), or having one group give letter grades to each paper and the other group making comments. Beyond this, there is the question of what kind of grade to give. You could give everyone full credit who has something displayed on shared answer page, or to everyone who has 30 or more words in their answer, or everyone could grade all the papers as an 8, 9 or 10 (out of 10), and then take the average of these (or have everyone do this). Basically, how would you involve everyone in class equally in getting these papers graded. In your answer, refer by title or content to at least one of the Topic #40 answers from the class. This could be your own. These answers will be automatically posted for others to read on the page below the Topic #40 answers. You also should read a reasonable sampling of these as people begin to submit them.
